A delightful pair of Victorian yellow gold and silver inlay pique earrings hand crafted in circa 1870. The tapered obelisk shaped pique drops, beautifully inlaid with stylised floral and fine like motifs motifs along with geometric patterns and tendrils. These still maintain their original heads and fittings which are both decorated with inlaid gold stars. The metals used are yellow gold and silver. These Victorian earrings would have been handmade during the mid-Victorian period (1860-1870). A skilled occupation which had its origins when the Huguenots escaped from France to England in the 17th Century where their craftsmanship spread. Very pretty earrings and light to wear and the detailing is seen from all sides. The silver ball posts are a later addition but in keeping with the overall style of the earrings.
