A very pretty 9ct green and yellow gold 'Albertina' bracelet that was made circa 1880. Albertina’s in this condition and detail are becoming rare and harder to source. It has some lovely detailing with the central boss section decorated in green gold, the end embossed finials and a heart padlock that is highlighted in in rose and green gold. The chains are foxtail and rope design. This super Albertina has a dog clip fastener and a T bar at the closure of the bracelet. It would make a perfect sweetheart gift.
Albertinas were originally meant to be worn across the chest. It has a dog clip and a “T” bar. The “T” would have fitted in to a button hole and the dog clip would have held small items like watch keys and fobs. Nowadays these chains can be worn as bracelets.
