A wonderful, large oval Victorian blue Wedgwood jasper ware brooch set in 9ct gold depicting Diana kissing Cupid. The 45mm long brooch dating from the 19th century has retained its wonderful royal blue colour with the white carving showing the seated goddess Diana (fertility and childbirth, and the protection of women) holding a bow kissing Cupid. The ornate scrolled edge with spherical detail is hand formed of yellow gold and remains in excellent condition and accentuates the brooch beautifully. To the reverse the markings ‘WEDGWOOD’ along with a safety chain for added security. A perfect gift for that special someone or to add to a collectors hoard.
