An immaculate Victorian yellow gold enamel mourning ring, the central enamel plaque with the initials for 'MR' (the name of which is 'Margaret K...' sadly the surname has been removed from the inside of the shank) within a natural seed pearl surround. Dating from this period the pearls will be natural, untreated split seed pearls and were used regularly in mourning jewellery to represent tears. The yellow gold band is carved with the words 'IN MEMORY OF' in a beautiful black letter typeface which is showing very little to no signs of wear (please see images).

The internal inscription reads 'Margaret K... died 10th Oct 1885'.
