An unusual and rare Victorian 18ct gold centrally carved feldspar depicting the man in the moon with a rose cut diamond and black enamel brooch, coating from circa 1850. The fabulously quirky brooch is set with approx 1ct of rose cut diamonds interspersed with applied black enamel dividers. The central cluster is set with the masterfully, hand craved man in the moon which is said to bring good fortune to the wearer and keep them safe from harm. This wonderful antique brooch is a true rarity and the perfect piece for that discerning wearer. The brooch can also be worn as a pendant with a small hook fitting tot the reverse.

HALLMARK - Unmarked, tested throughout as 18ct gold using a touchstone.

 

CONDITION - Excellent condition commensurate with age and use. The feldspar centre showing no evidence of chipping (often the case) or cracking. Diamonds remain securely set and original to the piece. Enamel intact throughout.
