A delightful Victorian 18 Karat yellow gold opal and diamond seven stone gypsy ring. All the gemstones are claw set with the opals displaying some good ‘fire’ within the stones. The diamonds are old mine cut diamonds typical of this particular era, circa 1890.
Opals were only discovered in 1880 in Australia, these must have been exciting discoveries back in the day. Opals when paired together are often believed to create a chain of bad luck. However, when they're paired with diamonds the chain is broken and any bad luck dispelled.
