A very pretty Victorian 15ct yellow and green gold, carved chalcedony and pink foiled back quartz floral brooch, dating from circa 1860. The delicately crafted bouquet of yellow and green gold flowers sits atop a masterfully carved and well preserved oval white chalcedony - a popular gemstone used in the period to accentuate the focal point of the brooch, this being the floral motifs. The foiled back quartz have faded over the decades but still maintains some flecks of pink, originally set to represent fruit or larger flower heads.
