A fine Victorian 9 karat yellow gold Victorian bangle, clearly hall marked for Chester in 1907.  In lovely condition and a most attractive brushed or satin finish with two facet cut rubies and a small Old Mine Cut centre diamond that is star set in the oval central panel. This antique hinged bangle has scrolled edging with a rope decorated border and a pretty daisy motif to the side of the centre piece. With an attached safety chain and strong thumb catch. This lovely piece shows very little wear, as an 'old/new item of jewelry, as we like to call it.  
 
These virtually unworn pieces occupy our minds as we try to think of the circumstances that would make a bangle unworn or little worn... Regarded as too grand to wear and perhaps spoil, unwanted, or maybe a gift given by a loved one lost in the war that was to come? Such is the intrigue of antique, pre-loved jewelry. All those stories hidden behind each piece.
