A solid, 9ct rose gold antique early 20th century Albert chain with alternating trombone and round uniform links with a sliding, removable T-bar. Every link is stamped ‘9CT' the two swivel clips and t-bar are also marked. The t-bar also has stamped the makers mark ‘P&M’ for Phillips & Mayell of Tenby Street, Birmingham., England. The Albert chain can be dated to circa 1900-1920.
Weighing in at 26.4g and measuring 16” or 400mm long the chain is a rare example with many similar chains having been scrapped for the gold. Traditionally worn as a watch chain suspending a pocket watch, Albert chains can also be worn as necklaces and used to suspend charms and pendants. This piece also acts a great investment piece which can also be worn!
