A very attractive 14ct yellow and white gold Art Deco ruby and diamond three stone ring ring set two rubies and seven diamonds. The rubies are on the pink spectrum as regards colour, the likely source for these gemstones would have been Burma. The head of the ring is 14ct white gold soldered to a yellow gold shank, the rubies and diamonds are secured with tiny beads of gold set within a 'honeycomb' design.
Stamped '585' on the shank this lovely antique ring is likely French and this fineness mark was employed from 1932 onwards. The geometric styling shouts Art Deco, with the French being pre-eminent in both the design and production of jewellery and object d'art.
