Art Deco 9ct Rose Gold Rose Cut Diamond Buckle Ring, Circa 1920

This is classic and timeless antique 9ct rose gold and rose cut diamond buckle ring dating from circa 1920. It has been star set with two rose cut diamonds with an applied buckle and strap that are beautifully engraved.

Today, as it was in the Victorian Era, the buckle ring symbolises the sentimental, binding love between the giver and the wearer of the ring. The interlocking belt and the buckle represents how perfectly the suitors are attuned to one another. Aside from eternal binding love, the buckle ring was also seen as a symbol of unbreakable loyalty and enduring memory.

The hallmarks are especially clear and confirm the ring was crafted by Friedman & Gottliffe Ltd. who were manufacturing jewellers based in Leeds & Birmingham around 1900.
