A solid, heavy 9 karat rose gold antique Edwardian Albert chain with alternating double trombone & round uniform links. Most links stamped lovely clear ‘9' '375' marks with one of the trombone links still showing its assay mark for Chester and 'A' date letter for 1901 .
The chain has one swivel 'dog' clasp and one large spring loaded jump/bolt ring, both of which are in full working order.
Weighing a pleasant 42 grams and measuring 17” or 440mm long with each trombone link 23mm (L) by 8mm (W) the chain is a rare example with many similar chains having been scrapped. Traditionally worn as a watch chain suspending a pocket watch, Albert chains can also be worn as necklaces and used to suspend charms and pendants.
