A solid, heavy 18 Karat yellow gold antique late Victorian Albert chain with alternating trombone & round uniform links. With T bar and swivel catch. Every link is stamped ‘18' with the crown mark for the Chester assay office which is a sheaf of corn mark. and a lower case 't' to denote the year. The 18k Albert chain can be dated to 1882.
It weighs a hefty 84.5 grams. Measuring 14” or 25cm long and 8mm wide. What is also interesting about this piece is that it still retains an original (or very early) price ticket for £24 and six shillings. Ideally worn as a watch chain suspending a pocket watch, a choker length chain or it would make a very attractive his and her double bracelet.
