An attractive and unusual mid 19th century 18ct gold ring, with a central sunburst design the rays of which are set with graduated seed pearls around which is a fine blue enamelled base. The marks to the outer shank depict the image of a swan, which was used as a French import mark. With a central Old Mine cut diamond and surrounding seed pearls, these blue enamel items of jewellery were popular during this period of the 1850's with the Victorian ladies.
